The capacity of a unit determines how much line it can comfortably hold. From what we discovered, the average length of line is about 125 feet. Products that have over 125 feet of line are considered to be above average, and are typically used for very large yards. Products that have under 125 feet of line capacity are a little on the small side, and are ideal for smaller yards. Typically when we see products with a line capacity of under 125 feet, this is usually for the wall mounted options that come equipped with their special line that is included with purchase. We also checked the weight of each unit. When it comes to yard tools, lighter options typically mean that they are easier to use when working in the yard, but lighter isn’t exactly a good thing when it comes to these products. We wanted to make sure that we found products that had a little bit of weight to them- especially for the ground options- to ensure that they won’t topple over while you are trying to unwind or wind up your line.
