Now some stuff just doesn’t translate very well does it? A marketing bod, sat in the (no doubt) lovely offices at Kleen Kanteen HQ, California, USA looked at this shiny stainless steel 40 ounce / 1182ml bottle and went, yup we’ll call that one the Growler.
I’m not a gambling person – oh, ok maybe I am, occasionally on the horses on a special occasion but even if I wasn’t I would happily bet a pile of good money that the G-word does not mean the same thing Stateside as it does here. I pity the UK PR/marketing person who ends up having to explain to his/her US counterpart why us Brits are falling about giggling and generally behaving in such a juvenile way!
A quick search on the internet (I really don’t suggest you type growler into your search engine) tells me that a growler in the USA is a brewery measurement, and with the popularity of micro-breweries and the like, this flask is a good way to transport your favourite tipple home from your preferred distiller.
The flip top fastening means that this Kleen Kanteen vessel will happily transport carbonated drinks. It can be stored in the fridge and when taken back out it will keep your beverage cool for some hours.
As with other Kleen Kanteen products this one is made from high quality, 18/8, food-grade stainless steel which the company states is “totally free of BPA and other toxins. Because stainless steel itself is safe, we don’t need to coat the inside with a plastic or epoxy lining, which is one of the main differences from aluminium bottles.”
The flask is also dishwasher safe, which is handy if used with sticky fizzy drinks. It also comes with the Kleen Kanteen lifetime warranty.
