Keen – Asks Fans Where a Million Steps Might Take Them

KEEN have announced an exciting hiking sweepstake that inspires fans to imagine the unique adventures they might find by taking one million steps. This competition has been launched to emphasise the long-lasting comfort of Keen’s new Durand WP hiking boot  (GWA’s Ed is currently testing a pair of these)

keen durandThe rather amazing prize package comprises airfare for two to Keen’s home in Portland, Oregon,in the good old US of A for four nights accommodation. Whilst there you will receive a tour of Keen’s Portland headquarters and factory  and see the Durand being manufactured and a guided hiking trip to the Columbia River Gorge accompanied by some of Keen’s global ambassadors.

To enter the competition, you need to visit the Keen website  and answer the question: Where would you go in a million steps?

The sweepstake will run from September 2nd–October 15th 2014. Winners will be chosen at random and notified before November 26th, 2014. Four winners will be chosen globally, one from each region (US, Japan, Canada and Europe).

During the sweepstake stay tuned to and Keen’s website and social media channels for essential hiking tips, can’t-miss hiking destinations and some of Keen’s European ambassador stories, that’ll be sure to inspire your next outdoors trip.

GWA’s Ed has just done some rudimentary maths, and 1 million steps depending on your stride is 450-550 miles, setting off from London that would get you to Germany!

    Your Ed must have incredibly long legs. I’d go with 375 miles for someone 6ft tall… 🙂 0.6m per stride… even that’s a tad ambitious .55m is probably more realistic at best, off road. And someone around 5’6″, it will be less still…
