I carry a bunch of torches in my car and pack which don’t get used very often, so it’s always a bit of a let down when I go to fire one up and it’s dead from having the batteries drained.
Coleman have come up with a way of preventing that drain, by physically separating the battery from the torch contacts and preventing any unwanted flow, which they are calling Battery Lock, and featuring on their 2016 range.
You simply twist the head of their torches, or the battery compartment of their lanterns, to reveal a big red strip and you know that there’s a gap between battery and contacts. Simple.
