PureLime – Compression Bra

It’s obviously been developed for women with actual breasts who actually do real exercise, and that’s great. It kept everything strapped down right where it was supposed to be. No black eyes or escapees to frighten the farmers. I have no complaints at all about its performance under bouncing. But, I do have a genuine gripe with this bra though. It’s the thing that’s stopping me giving it full marks. It’s a RIGHT pain in the bum to put on.

X-Bionic – Energizer MK2 Women’s Top

The only time I’ve over-heated in it was because I wasn’t sure how well it would work so I put fleece over top of it. And after bouts of intense exercise I didn’t turn into a shivering mess immediately afterwards so it seems to do the regulation thing quite well. Although it doesn’t make you feel warm and cosy like a thermal baselayer, it just stops you from feeling cold, which is a weird thing to describe.

Smartwool – Women’s PhD Run Short Sleeve Crew

I was pleasantly surprised. The t-shirt is very lightweight, so it doesn’t feel like something you have to drag around. It keeps the chill off in really cold weather, and wicks sweat away so you don’t get too clammy. The neckline isn’t too high, which means I can run without feeling like I’m being strangled. It’s long enough to keep draughts out too.
